US Infrastructure

OK, all the English words have been used up, so I'm going to have to make a new one to give this blog a title.  So be it. Point of this blog; to repost comments I make all over the place in one place.

Today's rant:

There is a long list of issues that need URGENT action.
Immigration reform is low on the list, unless its your dad or mom being deported.
Higher priorities include:
(1) Jobs. That measn government jobs because the government cant force the private sector to spend their record profits on creating a few jobs.
(2) Climate Change. At this point it means mitigation and adaptation, not stopping. Its too late to stop it now. We waited too long.
(3) Infrastructure repair. We spent $2 trillion looking for WMD in Iraq, but can't find half a trillion to fix America. And if we are concerned about our future, we also need to create the infrastructure of the future, not only repair the infrastructure of the last century. That means fiber optic networks, bullet trains, new subways...

The republican priority, however, is moving Canadian oil to China across US farmland, using eminent domain to grab the required land; going to war in the Ukraine and Syria; Stopping healthcare; and giving tax breaks to billionaires so they can inflate the stock market again. Billionaires dont spend on creating jobs, they spend on driving up stock and proprty prices and making a fast buck.. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar or a fool.
